Plaintiffs withdraw suits challenging Buhari’s eligibility
Plaintiffs in the two of the three pending suits challenging the eligibility of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to contest in the March 28, 2015, presidential election have been withdrawn.Justice Adeniyi Ademola who is presiding over the matters at the Federal High Court in Abuja struck out the suits after they were withdrawn by the plaintiffs through separate notices of discontinuance they filed before the high court.
The plaintiffs, Chukwunweike Okafor, and Mr. Max Ozoaka, through their respective lawyers, Chief Mike Ozehkome, SAN, and Dr. Chike Amobi, told the court that they decided to withdraw the matter in order to allow the President-elect, Buhari, to effectively focus on the governance of the nation without distraction.
